I've been working hard getting our house Christmafied and I think it's finally done. First thing I realized was that the new pillows I made back in October really were not going to cut it for this season, so, off to Fabricland (the only fabric store in the area) I went to find the cheapest fabric that would suit our room. I came back with 6 metres, 2 of a Christmas fabric (jury's still out on whether it's tacky or fab), 2 of a soft grey corduroy and a remnant of white fleece that I thought would make a nice soft pillow -- and yes, I forgot all about the joys of sewing with a stretchy fabric *sarcasm*.
So, one night after the kiddies were in bed, out came the sewing machine and I began. I'm pretty pleased with what I came up with, just flew by the seat of my pants and did whatever came to mind. These pillows definitely made the room instantly more Christmasy, but not too over the top -- just the way I like it!
A few days later we decided to put up our tree, needless to say our existing skirt no longer went with the bulk of our decorations, so out came the sewing machine again, and a few hours later our 'girl' had a new skirt!
Here's a shot of our living room in all it's Christmas glory, quite a difference from the red room it was last year!!
